Patricia has over 35 years of experience as a therapist specializing in individual, couples, and family relationships as well as in sexual abuse and childhood trauma. She was twice recognized as one of the top psychotherapists in Milwaukee by Milwaukee Magazine.

Patricia's individualized approach to working with clients is founded on her own time-tested practices coupled with proven theories and techniques. She has in-depth training and experience in sexual abuse treatment. An Advanced EMDR practitioner,, she utilizes this resource when working with trauma survivors. She also has advanced training in Brainspotting which she offers to deepen the release of childhood trauma as necessary.

Earlier in her career, Patricia studied with family therapist pioneer Carl Whitaker for 10 years as a member of his clinical supervision group. His innovative style in working with families is evident in Patricia's work with families today.

Patricia assists clients with relationship issues such as communication, sexual intimacy, and conflict resolution. Individual issues range from unresolved grief or loss, anxiety and depression to physical or sexual trauma, anger, and bullying. She utilizes John and Julie Gottman’s research and interventions with couples as needed. She has advanced training in their communication and conflict resolution techniques as well.

"I believe psychotherapy is a process of change - one that takes courage to enter and discipline and commitment to complete. Working with people to create positive changes in their lives is a privilege that I take seriously and with deep respect for the pain and struggles that life can bring."

Patricia co-creates specific goals for therapy with her clients. Throughout her practice she has witnessed countless individuals, couples and families break through their personal pain to create deeper and more meaningful relationships and a renewed sense of self.

In addition to her clinical practice, Patricia is active in a wide array of professional activities:
